While walking through the woods, I stumbled upon a perfect little evergreen branch in the snow. Happy Tuesday!

There are these trees I see when I hike the trails by my house that have these incredible holes carved in them. I usually just glance their way and keep walking, but I thought I'd take a closer look today. While looking around, I found this face! What's also amazing, is that I found out how the holes are made; and here's the culprit:
A beetle! Not so great for the tree, but really cool to look at.

I'd like to call this one "feels like -17". When I saw the ice on the window I couldn't decide if I wanted to cry or put my hand against the glass and sing "Let it go".

Today I took a picture of my favorite view from my house at 4 different times. Twice at sunrise and twice at sunset! Here are the full sized images:

I realize this post is so long overdue! I took a brief hiatus from updating my website when my job in special education went full swing this past fall.
With 2014 coming to a close, and a new year about to begin, we all try to think of the things we want to change or accomplish with the exciting promise of a fresh start. My goal for 2015 is to find the balance between work and photography. Sometimes I find myself falling into a routine that doesn't leave room for having the time to explore and be inspired.
So to start this year off right, I will be starting a new Project365 on January 1st! I am so excited! I have done this before, and really enjoyed the experience.
For those of you who are not familiar with this kind of project, the goal is to take a picture everyday for a whole year. I will be posting all of my photography daily on this blog, and you can also follow along on my other social media pages (Facebook Page / Twitter / Flickr).

With a bright sunny forecast predicted for the weekend, I woke up early this morning, grabbed my camera, and watched the sunrise over at a beach near my house. I am so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. As the school year begins to wind down for the summer, my goal is to photograph more of the Cape and Islands. New photos to be added soon, stay tuned! :)
A Memorial Day Give Away!!! Here is how you can enter for a chance to win a print of this photo: Head over to my Facebook Page Amanda Morris Photography. Share that photo publicly on your wall, and write "shared" in the comments section. A winner will be randomly selected on Monday night! Good luck everyone!
"A Sunny Tuscan Path"
A sunny road carves a path through the rolling Tuscan hills just outside of Florence, Italy.
A few years ago, while I was living in the Boston area, I decided to try and take a picture every day for a whole year. I started on my birthday and successfully completed my Project 365 on my following birthday. I used my smartphone for a majority of my photos, since I always had it with me. I found the experience so much fun! I loved going back and comparing pictures of things and seeing how much they had changed in that year.
